NeuroSight™ Begins Commercial Orders
Merge Plot is excited to announce that it has begun accepting commercial orders for NeuroSight™, its smart event-based camera platform. NeuroSight is a ruggedized, low-power, event-driven imaging system based on Merge Plot’s EdgeVision™ AI Board. Engineered for microsecond-level latency and extreme dynamic range, NeuroSight is designed to integrate seamlessly with AI/ ML platforms, enabling real-time detection, tracking, and control in dynamic, contested, and high-speed environments across aerospace, defense, and robotics domains.
Unlike traditional frame-based cameras, the base NeuroSight platform captures only changes in contrast based on motion using asynchronous pixel technology. The returned sparse data reduces latency, bandwidth, and power consumption while enhancing performance in high-speed and low-light conditions. The expandable platform allows for additional imaging modalities to work in tandem with the event sensor. NeuroSight’s key features include:
GigE Vision® Compliance – NeuroSight integrates effortlessly into existing ISR, autonomous, and industrial vision systems, enabling plug-and-play deployment and rapid fielding on a 10GigE platform.
High Dynamic Range & Temporal Precision – With a dynamic range exceeding 120 dB and temporal resolution down to 1 μs, NeuroSight delivers accurate sensing under extreme lighting and motion conditions.
Flexible API & Modular Software Stack – Based on the K26 SoM from AMD Xilinx, the user accessible onboard compute platform supports Python, C++, ROS, OpenCV, OpenEB and Metavision for rapid integration into autonomous systems, vision pipelines, and data fusion platforms.
Extended I/O + Sensor Fusion – The foundational EdgeVision AI Board features dual MIPI connections, SLVS/ SLVS-EC, and GPIO over Pmod, allowing applications involving multi modal and multispectral sensing capabilities as well as depth calculations made with stereo event vision.
User Accessible FPGA and Processing – Access to the onboard FPGA and MPSoC allow for robust edge processing with user software.
